Ways I Help #AccessBetter Disability and Sexuality

Keynotes

As a seasoned public speaker, I am available for delivering empowering and inspiring keynote speeches. Examples of past keynotes:

Accessing Pay to Play: The History and Present Day of Disability and Sex Work (Closing Keynote for S.L.A.M. conference, 2020)

Sex work is work that has globally been around since the beginning of time. What we don't hear about is the intersection of disability in the profession. This workshop will discuss various historical and current issues surrounding sex work and disability, including ableism and access.

(Inter)Exchange- Interplay, Interdependence, and Intersectionality- Connecting our Branches for Accessible and Inclusive Reproductive and Sexual Health Justice (AASECT 2019 Plenary Keynote)

Description: As sexuality professionals, we are continually learning and embracing inclusive phrasing, ideologies and approaches in understanding how we culturally and competently address human sexuality. Interplay, Interdependence, and Intersectionality are ideologies that are particularly crucial for people with disabilities, in order to achieve inclusive access to reproductive and sexual health and justice. A holistic approach from our profession would help achieve this goal. Attendees will be able to identify and distinguish key ideologies that promote access and cultural competency in the area of disability, sexuality, and reproductive justice.

…And the Disability Revolution Will be Tweeted: How Twitter Has Impacted Disability Advocacy Worldwide (Session speech for rePublica Berlin, 2018)

This session will discuss how disability activists and advocates are using Twitter, and using this platform worldwide to connect and work on disability related causes. Physical and social barriers to access impact the human rights of people with disabilities to participate in society. As a disability and sexuality educator, and disability self and systems advocate, I will also share some of the ways Twitter has allowed me to learn about disabled sexuality and reproductive agency and access around the globe. The audience will come away with an understanding of how people with disabilities are using Twitter to connect with the world, and work towards creating positive change in building more accessible and inclusive communities. The revolution will be Tweeted and Verified!
